On the weekend from the 20th to the 22nd of September 2024, the Monza racetrack will once again see the best GT cars driven by the category’s most experienced drivers compete in the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS – known until the 2019 season as the Blancpain GT Series. GT World Challenge Europe: the 76th edition.
The GT World Challenge Europe is a sports competition featuring so-called Grand Touring cars, cars with extremely high performance and suitable for long journeys. The Challenge will consist of 10 rounds, divided into 5 Sprint Cup events and 5 Endurance Cup events.
An unmissable race for all endurance enthusiasts will take place in Monza.
As always in the racetrack of Monza will compete more than 50 cars, divided into three rankings:
- Pro (professionals)
- Am (amateurs)
- Pro-Am
This year the event celebrates its 76th edition and promises to be one of the most exciting, confirming the multiple supporting events that will accompany the championship, including the now classic Super Trofeo Lamborghini, celebrating its 10th season of competition in the European championship.
GT World Challenge Europe: tickets and costs.
Tickets for the Monza races, as in previous editions, can be purchased:
- Directly at the racetrack: in the ticket offices located at the various entrances, or from the staff in charge (equipped with an identification bib);
- Online: if you want to book the best seats, it will be convenient to buy tickets on the dedicated page.
Inside the premises you will also find a free parking space for bicycles for those willing to come on two wheels.
Here are the costs:
- Friday: free entry for the public; free practice for both the main and support races will take place;
- Saturday: the cost of the ticket will be 20 euros;
- Sunday: the cost of the ticket will be 25 euros;
- Saturday+Sunday: the season ticket for both days can be purchased for 35 euros.
Take note: free access to the paddock is also included in the ticket.
Children up to 6 years old and people with disabilities will be able to enter the Temple of Speed for free, while companions and those aged between 7 and 11 will be able to purchase at the cost of one euro, both for Saturday and Sunday. Discounts are also available for those under 24, for those over 65 and for ACI members. Admission to the circuit for people with disabilities is free of charge, while their caregiver can gain access by paying directly at the entrance at a cost of 1 euro.
The Monza racetrack: How to get there?
The racetrack is located inside the park of the Royal Villa of Monza and during the GT World Challenge Europe you will be able to access the racetrack through the following gates:
- Gate A/B Vedano
- Gate B Santa Maria delle Selve
- Gate G Mirabello
If you decide to travel to the event in your own car, inside the premises you will find 54 000 sqm of parking space in a completely paved area with lighting and toilets. Dedicated parking for people with disabilities will be in front of the Monza Circuit Shop (near the Fangio Statue).
The racetrack is easy to reach by public transport:
- For the Vedano access point: take bus 204 to Corso Milano;
- For the Santa Maria delle Selve access point: take bus 221 also to Corso Milano.
- Monza railway station (a bit over 6 km away from the racetrack) is found on the Milan-Chiasso line.
For those coming from Milan, you can take underground line 1, get off at Sesto 1º Maggio and, from there, take bus 221 to Monza.
