A century of great artists who left an indelible mark in the History of Art. At Monza Royal Palace “Da Monet a Bacon” (From Monet to Bacon) is the brand new unmissable exhibition arranged on the second floor. A meeting with art from March 31st to July 30th 2017.

In Monza an extraordinary cultural heritage.

Warhol, Degas, Picasso, Van Gogh and Gauguin, just to mention a few. It’s a tribute to Beauty what you will find on the second floor of Monza Royal Palace. Da Monet a Bacon, from March 31st to July 30th 2017, is considered to be the unmissable art exhibition of 2017. There are more than 60 works of art gathered inside the Apartments of Naples Prince and Duchess among oil paintings, watercolours and graphics. An overview that runs through more than a century of international art (from mid XIX to the second half of the XX century) telling the story of its main exponents.

The exhibition wants to be a sort of ideal travel inside the Johannesburg Art Gallery, the South African gallery these extraordinary art masterpieces come from. Starting from the XIX century, you will find Romantic paintings by William Turner. You pass from Romanticism to Impressionism with artists such as Eugéne Boudin, Edgar Degas and Claude Monet, and to post-Impressionism  (Paul Cézanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Pierre Bonnard, Edouard Vuillard).

Transition to XX century is characterized by some relevant figures of the Contemporary Art, among the others Matisse and Picasso, and the Tuscan Amedeo Modigliani. You shouldn’t neither forget the section dedicated to South African XX-century art, with works of the impressionists Maggie Laubser, Maude Sumner, Selby Mvusi and George Pemba.
