About 40 kilometres divide Monza and Hotel de la Ville from Como, city with a wonderful lake dotted with luxury historic dwellings and rich in worldwide-known architectural treasures.

A stay at Hotel de la Ville in Monza is often a chance to visit its beautiful surroundings, starting from the nearby Milan and the hidden Brianza corners. But it’s above all Lake Como to fascinate Italian and foreign tourists for the extraordinary beauty of its landscapes, narrated by the famous writer Alessandro Manzoni.

Como is a pearl on Lake Como and it deserves a visit through its historic centre, with Piazza del Duomo and the gothic façade of its cathedral, next to Palazzo del Broletto. You cannot miss a walk on the lakeside, which leads you shortly to Navigazione Laghi jetty. Here you can choose among many different routes: left behind the majestic 18th-century Villa Olmo, with its Italian garden and a centuries-old parke (nowadays used for meetings and cultural exhibitions), and Villa d’Este, just a few metres after Cernobbio, you can easily travel north admiring Villa Pliniana in Torno (frequented in the past by intellectuals such as Foscolo and Stendhal), Isola Comacina and the marvelous Villa del Balbianello, 18th-century villa which once was a monastery.

Favourite place for those who look for luxury con Lake Como, Bellagio fascinates for its elegance, the climate and the enviable location, on the apex of the Larian Triangle. Alleys, shops, bars and narrow stairs characterize the village, where you can also find a little shore and a small port at Punta Spartivento. You have millions of possibilities on Lake Como. You can go north to reach Varenna, overlooked by the panoramic Castello di Vezio, or to Piona, with its abbey, and last but not least to Gravedona.
